The Old Testament Promises Peace through Evangelism

Located in Allston, Massachusetts, Boston International Christian Church is a part of the International Christian Churches, whose members commit their lives to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. The ultimate goal of Boston International Christian Church is to bring all peoples of the world to a meaningful relationship with God by teaching them about his great love.

According to the Old Testament prophecy, God gave people a mandate to evangelize the world. According to Kip McKean in his work The Mandate of God for World Evangelism, in the Book of Genesis, God teaches about world evangelism and his Eternal Kingdom when he promises Abram that he would be the father of a great nation and that all people on Earth would be blessed through him.

Additionally, in the Book of Exodus, the Israelites were blessed and became a great nation through the fruitfulness of families, as disciples multiplied under the new covenant. The Old Testament prophesied that, as the world population increased, the people would be blessed as disciples taught them of God.

According to the Book of Isaiah, one day, nations will no longer be at war and world peace will exist because people will see one another as brothers. Isaiah said that the knowledge of God will cover all the earth and that it can be achieved only through the evangelical efforts of faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.

McKean posits that God has given a mandate in the Old Testament for disciples to go forth and fill the world with the knowledge of him so the inhabitants of the earth can be baptized and receive his blessings.

The Boston International Christian Church is a member of an international family of churches that believe in discipleship and baptism for the forgiveness of sins. In addition to supporting members in developing their relationship with God, the Boston International Christian Church also offers opportunities for higher education through its affiliation with the International College of Christian Ministry (ICCM).

Since passing the California Bureau of Postsecondary Education approval process in 2012, ICCM has granted bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees. The institution conferred more than 100 degrees during its first two years in operation. Candidates can obtain their degree with a concentration in one of four tracks.

Students interested in serving the Church in a leadership capacity can enroll in the Ministry track. The Charity track provides degree candidates with hands-on experience in international service ministry through a training session with International Christian Church nonprofit, MERCYworldwide.

Future church administrators can follow the Administration track, and the Shepherding Track trains students in pastoral counseling so they can support other ministry leaders.
